Great News….. Our Friend Eryk has ordered a new F650GS for himself… The order was placed on Sunday, and the bike is due to arrive in October 2008!!!

I’m very excited for him, and for Michelle… And for us! – It means more great rides together!!! Yay!

Eryk Ordered all the extra features for his bike, so it’s going to be a great setup… It includes a full trip computer, with temperature, fuel consumption, trip meters, as well as tire pressure sensors…  He’s also ordered the full set of hard luggage with a backrest for Michelle… Yummy setup..

The Ride Home

It was 5am when we both woke up at the same time… It was a hot night… and not a very restful one. But it was bright outside again, and there was something that resembled some cool air (cooler than it was before anyway), so we were both up in a flash and ready to start our trip home. The earlier we started, the cooler the ride would be.

We got up quickly, had a quick breakfast, and then packed up.

We had our camp site torn down and loaded onto our bikes by 6:30am! Off we went. The ride was much nicer than the day before, and the temperature stayed constant between 22 and 25 degrees for our entire trip. We stopped in Princeton for a nice hearty breakfast and a rest, before continuing on to Hope.

Manning Park was beautiful, but we did encounter some traffic and got stuck behind a few trucks on our way. It was the longest leg of our day, and with how tired we were, it was the most challenging…

We were happy to get past Hope. We had decided previously that the Hope – Vancouver leg was the longest and most boring… We had driven it so many times, and we wanted something new… So we took the exit to Harrison, and followed highway #7 home the rest of the way. The detour added perhaps another 30 minutes onto our trip, but it was nice to get a chance of pace from the freeway… I think we were both happy we made the detour.

The trip was fantastic… I can’t say enough how great it was to spend some time with Eryk. We had great conversations and I think had a very compatible way of spending our weekend together… I would go on another trip with Eryk in a heartbeat.

It was a memorable and wonderful way to spend a long weekend….
