Well it’s time for my last vacation next week, and I’m hoping weather will cooperate with me enough that I can go on another motorcycle trip.
In an effort to plan around meeting friends, I didn’t leave enough time to make reservations anywhere, so I may go back to Nelson as I have a good feeling that the Road Rock campground will have some space for me.
I love the route and live spending time in Nelson, so it would hardly be difficult to do the route again.
I’ll keep posting when I have a better idea. So far I’m still waiting to hear back from Mary about a reservation.

Ah what a wonderful surprise to wake up this morning to find the sun shinning and the air warm! When I looked outside the window and saw how great the weather was, I was showered and dressed, fed and watered in no time – and out the door I went…. Only to find myself in heavy traffic for about 45 minutes as I slowely made my way out of my neighbourhood…
I went on the highway, taking the Mt. Leighman exit close to Abbotsford, and then making my way through some wonderful tranquil winding roads… They weaved their way through the most beautiful countryside. It was nice to ride slowely and take in fields of grass and flowers. There was a wonderful smell in the air – a sweet earthy smell. It was wonderful.
Well Finally I’ve hit 1000km on my bike… It’s now ready for it’s first service – already booked a week and a half ago for this coming Thursday. I’m looking forward to being more free with my riding… It’s one more step closer to our Camping trip at the beginning of June….

Oh another warm wonderful day, and a chance to put some Kms on my new Burgman… I have to be careful about my engine revs – they need to be kept below 4000rpm, and varied as much as possible to allow the engine to heat and cool down intermittently.
I didn’t hurry in any way, and found a wonderful route past a couple of lakes. The roads leading up to two lakes and a Hydro dam are really beautiful. Even with the warm day and the weekend, I was almost alone on the route. I stopped off several times to take photos and to enjoy the views… I did a big loop, at one point, connecting to Dewdney Trunk Road, and the detour took me probably 45 minutes. Next time I go I’d like to stop off at one, or both of those lakes and enjoy a little rest.

A nice quick ride today. I went to North Vancouver, riding along some of my old neighborhoods. As usual when I go for a drive or a ride in North Van, I end up around the top of Capilano Road. I stopped off quickly at the Cleveland Dam, and took a photo of my bike.

Wow, what a wonderful ride today.. My first ride that was hours long… It was wonderful. The new Windscreen made a world of difference – it was like the difference between sticking my head out of the window of a moving car and just having the window open a crack.
I took Lougheed Hwy from Vancouver, all the way to Harrison Hot Springs – what a fantastic route. Beautiful views of mountings, fields, and great long stretches of empty roads curvy roads – fantastic!
Once I got to Harrison I had planned to sit and relax by the lake for a while… But after walking around for 15 minutes, I really didn’t feel like staying. I couldn’t wait to get back on the road Sections were very windy today. It was the first time I had ridden in such gusty conditions, and was surprised to see how easy it was to cope with the wind. The bike naturally reacts to the wind – leaning towards the wind as it blows, and then righting itself again when the wind stops. At first I felt very uneasy riding this way, but after a while it became very natural.
Once past Harrison, I went further, onwards on the #7 Highway. I had never been past Harrison on #7, and was surpized to find even more stretches on wonderful empty road. How could such fantastic driving roads so under-used… Not that I’m complaining…
I can’t wait to take Nicole and Michelle and Eryk on this route…

Oh What a nice ride I had today… I went to Fort Langley. It was the first really sunny warm(ish) day of the year so far, and it was great to get out and ride..
